Detailed Trail Description

Our team of experts recommends the trailhead at the high train track bridge at Devou Park after Sleepy Hollow. You can get there by traveling via I-75 south from Cincinnati into Kentucky. Take an exit on Kyles Lane exit and turn right. Turn right and get in the left lane.

After that, turn left towards Sleepy Hollow Lane and continue about two miles until you come across the high train track bridge. You can leave your vehicle in the gravel parking lot, which is on your left. The trailhead is at the parking lot. Before starting your ride, go around a fence to obtain the trail map near the abandoned shelter at the beginning of the trail. This map will ensure you ride through suitable trails.

After getting the trail map, start riding from the trailhead that takes you out and back. The out ride begins with a steep climb. You will encounter some nice switchbacks and bermed turns when you get near the top. From there, you can use the trail map to choose the trails you want to ride on.

We recommend the Incinerator trail, which is one of the most popular trails in Devou Park. This trail leads to the Bated-Coombs trail that flows around the top of the Western high ground. You can also find Back Bowl here, a side loop front Bates, which drops to the base of the hill and up again.

Once you have ridden through enough trails, take a U-turn and head back towards the trailhead. Of course, the trip back down will be agile and fun. During the ride, you may encounter some technical areas that will challenge you, but they won’t be a problem; it’s all part of what makes Devou Park’s network of trails fun.

Precaution

Devou Park is a lovely site, but the worst thing you can do to yourself when using its network of trails is to get distracted by the scenery. Such a distraction can leave you with a skinned knee. So, we advise that you ride with the utmost caution on the singletrack.
