Need a bike trail that pushes you with just the right amount of challenge? The Daley Ranch singletracks are perfect for those who want to experience a little bit of everything. These trails include loops, biking through fire road, and includes some doubletracks.

Some spots of these trails are smooth sailing while other spots will require you to slow down and practice your cycling techniques. Read our review of this fascinating route for more details !

Detailed Trail Description

The start of this ride is nice and steady. Head up a fire road that will get your legs pumping and your blood flowing. You can take a shortcut through the Coyote Run, however, if you don’t turn right back onto the main path, this shortcut will end up cutting your ride very short!

You will return back to a very chunky fire road with a few ruts and you will cross over a creek. The hardest part of this ride is the first climb as it is very steep and requires plenty of technical skill. You will continue heading up a couple sets of steep climbs but eventually, you will be rewarded with going downhill again.

This single track will eventually loop back to the parking lot where you started and hopefully, you still have some energy left after all that work!

Additional Trail Features

If you love plants, you can purchase a plant guide for $5 at the entrance of the trails. Look out for different local plants while riding and make sure to note all that you see.

The biggest obstacles you’ll face are the steep climbs through the fire road and then winding through the singletracks. These trails are intermediate for all the extra leg power you will have to put into this 32.2 km ride. Do note that this ride will take you a large chunk of the day to complete so it is best to start riding early in the day.

Sights of Interest, landscapes, views

Experience the deep rich reds of the fire road and the wide views once you reach high up in the mountains. You will ride through lots of brush and cross a few streams. With the plant guide you may have bought before your ride, pay attention to the plants both high and low.

Recommendations/precautions

With over 32 km of trails to experience, start your adventure early in the day to have time to complete the tracks. Bring plenty of extra water and snacks to keep hydrated and replace the energy you lose with those climbs.

It is required for all cyclists to wear a helmet while on the trails and to wear appropriate clothing. The trails can get busy with the other cyclists and hikers so it is important to be aware of your speed and surroundings. When passing a hiker, give as much space as you can.

Conclusion

The Daley Ranch trails are long and difficult and not suitable for beginners. This track is suitable for excellent endurance cyclists, and the opportunity to study various plants in the area will be a nice bonus.
