I-5 Colonnade Mountain Bike Park Description

Being an urban mountain bike park, the I-5 Colonnade was designed to resemble natural terrain with various materials like logs, dirt and rocks. The aim is to simulate the natural riding environment and provide this feel for trail users. To this effect, the park consists of several mountain biking trails, obstacles and jumps tailored to test riders of different skill levels.

Also, a large concrete bridge that runs through the park's length serves as a jumping platform. The park's location also functions as an added advantage as since it is underneath the I-5 freeway, it shields riders from nature's elements, thus keeping you dry even in rainy seasons.

Interestingly, there is a progression to the order of obstacles within the park since it welcomes riders of various skill levels. So riders can move from easy obstacles and gentle slopes to technical obstacles, steep drops and difficult jumps. Finally, the park comes with an elevation gain of 115 up and an elevation loss of 136 down.

Additional Trail Features

I-5 Colonnade serves as a hotspot for mountain bikers and doubles as a community space that has hosted several community events like bike races, social gatherings and skills clinics. Its environment also mirrors the natural landscape and the outdoors, so riders can enjoy beautiful sights as they ride. However, information about lift service, night riding, shuttle service and e-bike riding is not available.

Recommendations/Precautions

Riders must assess the obstacles in each section of the trail before attempting them, as some obstacles can be tricky. Also, pay attention to the track when riding a few hours after rainfall, as mud and dirt may affect you.

Conclusion

The I-5 Colonnade Mountain Bike Park is great for the ultimate mountain biking experience. It is designed for bikers of all experience levels, so it features easy obstacles, challenging jumps and technical obstacles. Visiting this biking park would add spice and colour to your mountain biking journey.
