Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail Description

The trailhead opens at River Road with relatively flat terrain and a small parking area. Winding through the woods and over hills, this trail features steep climbs and descents. Although it is designed for beginner bikers, more experienced riders can also try out the numerous switchbacks, jumps, and berms on the route.

Since it is novice riding oriented, there are several blue blazes markings along the way to ensure that riders don't get lost. Several bail-out points on the trail for bikers that cannot endure the long ride. One exciting thing about the track is that it has excellent visibility and enjoys little traffic, so experienced bikers can ride at a quick pace.

Also, even with flat terrain, the trail is narrow, which makes it a fascinating trail for different skill levels. Finally, Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail is 10.1 miles long and open all year round, making it a fantastic spot for beginners, intermediaries, and expert riders alike.

Additional Trail Features

The area's soil composition is primarily sandy, but the trail is tightly packed, leaving only a few spots where riders may slip or be bogged down. Riders can also come along with their dogs since it is allowed. Sadly, the trail does not offer drinking water, lift service, night, or e-bike riding.

Recommendations/Precautions

Since there is no provision of drinking water, riders should carry plenty of water, especially during summer when the trail is usually hot and humid. Also, check the weather before heading out, as the course can be slippery and muddy after rainfall. Finally, as easy as the trail may seem, starting slowly and gradually increasing your pace is advisable.

Conclusion

The Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail is excellent for riders, especially beginners, to experience the thrills of mountain biking. It has numerous switchbacks, jumps, steep climbs, and descents to provide a wonderful biking experience.
