Suspension is about the ‘spring’ in a bike protecting the rider from bumps in the road. There are three types of suspension in tricycles: rear, dual and rigid.
Rigid means that there is no suspension, and you’re going to feel all the bumps and ridges in the road. This may not be a dealbreaker over short distances, but if you’re looking at riding around on a tricycle for long periods, then this would be one of your main considerations.
Rear suspension means that the suspension is on the back wheel, and dual suspension means that the suspension is on both back and front wheels. Having rear suspension only gives you a comfortable ride, but your basket in front may bounce around a bit. With the dual suspension, you travel very comfortably, even over slightly rougher terrain. Baskets: These enable you to carry your goods and paraphernalia around most conveniently.
